FAQ

All-on-6 frequently asked questions

What is the difference between All-on-4 and All-on-6?+

All-on-4 uses 4 implants with two angled at the back. All-on-6 uses 6 implants for greater stability and is recommended for patients with more bone loss, wider arches, or who want to support heavier zirconia prosthetics. Your CT scan determines which is appropriate.

How much does All-on-6 cost in Costa Rica?+

All-on-6 costs $11,000 to $14,500 per arch in Costa Rica versus $30,000 to $40,000 in the US. Both arches cost $20,000 to $26,000 in Costa Rica versus $55,000 to $75,000 in the US.

Is All-on-6 better than All-on-4?+

Not categorically. All-on-4 is sufficient for most patients and is more cost-efficient. All-on-6 is better when bone volume or arch width makes 4-implant stability insufficient. Your surgeon recommends based on your CT scan.

Does All-on-6 require bone grafting?+

All-on-6 is often chosen to avoid bone grafting by using more implants in available bone. However, cases with extreme bone loss may still require grafting. Your CT scan determines this.

How long does All-on-6 last?+

The implants are designed to last a lifetime. The prosthetic arch lasts 10 to 15 years for acrylic and 15 to 20 years for zirconia. Replacement prosthetics do not require new implant surgery.
